I'm an electronics engineer by education. So of course my career started in the IT industry, like million others. I used to work as a database developer, from 2014 to 2021. 7 years! I did like it. Seeing my code coming to life and doing as I command. I started my journey of music in 2014, right after I joined the company. I started a music club in the company, met a few very good musicians and singers. All the music I have learnt I have learnt from the people I’ve met. Never could get formal education. But it never stopped me.
We (all the musicians at the company) started meeting outside work as well, mostly at my flat and kept the music going. We made youtube videos, performed as a band, represented our company, and amidst all this I was having the time of my life.
I always wanted to do something creative. And when I started enjoying music a lot, whatever I learned I also started teaching it in the music club in my company. I later also started music classes at my home, which was then in Noida. I discovered my love for teaching as well.
Life switched gears, I was transferred to Indore. Found musicians there as well, and guess what, started a music club again. Did a lot of music, performances, until the corona pandemic forced me to come back to Bhopal in early 2020.
Since then I've been in Bhopal.
Although I continued to work from home, the absence of musicians and jamming in my life was taking a toll on me. I met an old college friend who was working on his own music and film production company. He invited me to join him, and I needed a change. I left IT in 2021 and began working with Adanj Studio as a manager.
During my time with Adanj Studio, I wore many hats, from voice artist to production manager to video editor. My technical background was helpful in my work with Adanj Studio and later with NGOs. I worked with the production house for about two years, creating music and films. However, I left the production house in late 2022 to pursue my own endeavors. I got married and now teach music and meditation full-time.
On a voluntary basis, I provide consultations to small and medium-sized businesses on how to improve their online presence, sometimes for free. I also assist them in becoming a brand. During this time, I volunteered with several NGOs in Bhopal, mostly animal welfare groups. I have helped several NGOs fill gaps in technology.
Driven by my interest in technology, I have also explored how to create websites, chatbots, low-code applications, and got certified as a Google Digital Marketing Expert.
I also completed Google My Business training to improve my ability to assist local businesses. I have been a Google Local Guide for over 12 years and am currently at Local Guide Level 8.
My journey of mindfulness started during the 2020 covid pandemic, during a personal low. In search of direction and guidance in my life I was later introduced to Vipassana in late 2021.
I feel benefited a lot from Vipassana. Ever since I started exploring mindful living I have always felt the need to go out and introduce it to someone in need. I see people, who don’t know what mindfulness is, charging thousands for weekly consultation sessions that go on until the “client” runs out of money, or patience, or both. This compelled me to reach out to people in my circle and start guiding them. As I realized that it is in fact helping people, I expanded my reach even further, to guide everyone I can, free of charge.
